Moving everyday

We believe that the single biggest factor to the quality of life for our chickens is movement. This contributes to the nutrient density of the meat and the benefit to the soil. We move our chickens every single day to fresh pasture. This allows the chicken to have a clean environment so there is no need for antibiotics. It allows the chickens to eat grass, bugs, and worms, which adds to the nutrition of the meat. It allows the soil to rest and have time to absorb the nutrients left behind from the chickens.
P.S. when we say “every day” we mean EVERY SINGLE DAY! There have only been a few times where weather did not allow us to move them. That means everyday, including Sunday mornings before church, we are out there giving our chickens a brand new salad and bug bar to munch on all day!
